The problem is, of course, that Xi is in a much better position than Trump is, and he's not a crazy person.

So that's two big advantages he has right there.

Well, actually, he has several cards.

First, his workforce is better educated.
He has excellent infrastructure, while we have crumbling infrastructure. (And you all screamed when Biden tried to fix it.)
China is a creditor nation, while we are a debtor nation.
While China has been building up good will around the world with the Belt And Road Initiative, Trump has been finding new ways to piss the rest of the world off.

China has everything to lose. Sucks you can't pull for America for once.

Funny, I could ask the same question about you guys when you were cheering for Putin in Ukraine.

But here's the point. We are not in this mess because China "Cheated" us or did anything wrong. They did what we SHOULD have done. Invested in education, invested in infrastructure, made the rich pay their fair share, elevated people to the middle class.

Inflation has been dropping for the last three years, this isn't an accomplishment.

Unemployment is going up and the Stock Market is unpredictable.

And when those Tariffs hit, watch for the real inflation to start.

Actually, if anything, Trump has given him a gift. Any economic hardships that China endures, he can blame on Trump.

China's exports to the US is only 14% of their total exports, and less than 3% of their total GDP.

This number has been declining as China has continued to expand in markets that are not the US.

We have been in a trade war and intellectual property war for decades....only thing is that we have not been fighting....we have been ignoring it this whole time.

And it has slowly but surely gotten to the point of death by a thousand cuts. None of the wounds have been severe or serious....but collectively they are draining out our blood supply.

An armed fight with weapons? Only if PRC tries to take Taiwan. We, as do a LOT of nations, have literally Trillions of dollars invested in Taiwan and in their banks. They make the processor chips for the world with a superior workforce that is made to do just that.
If PRC takes Taiwan it literally is a bank heist except China is stealing from the whole world...because that's what China wants, leverage of the whole Chip production market. (Plus the cash in their banks...because PRC is cash strapped)

The USA is not going to fight this war alone....ALL of the EU will join in this. And that's part of the reason Trump has been bitching at them. They have basically relied upon the USA for troops and military equipment for THEIR security.
