Despite what some may believe, China is in pretty bad shape; economically and socially. It's a mess over there. Everyone loses in a trade war but some will lose more than others and that would be China.

One of the reasons for that is China's insistence on keeping the Yuan pegged at 1/8 of the dollar value.
This destroys the buying power of the currency in country forcing massive poverty on the peons that serve as fodder for the CCP. Rather than letting the currency appreciate to its natural value following trade balances they prefer to artificially manipulate it to keep the trade flow pressure going in their direction. This wasn't a very smart move for a nation that's generally not stupid.

The problem with constantly playing Chicken is eventually, someone doesn't swerve out of the way at the last second.

Certainly when we speak of China it's not fair to speak in terms of 100% negatives. Their governing philosophy may be antithetical to ours but it seems to work for them.

I will say that their product lines have improved as far as quality but I wouldn't go as far as saying their products are better. And yes they are cheating.... They are not constrained by the EPA, the FDA or OSHA or any of the other myriad federal agencies that ride piggyback on American businesses. Neither is Mexico for that matter. The only way to rectify that to add that extra cost to the Chinese goods that we bring to this country; otherwise we deny our own standards and morals.

The constant manipulation of the Yuan, keeping it pegged at 1/8 of the value of the dollar is another financial knife in the arsenal of the CCP. They do this at the sacrifice of the standard of living of their own people.
