China halts export of rare earthes

What about his cuts to medicare and medicaid.

You left that out. Which will cost republicans a ton of votes.
The only cuts will be fraud and unclosed accounts due to the people being dead.... the waste in both would blow the peoples mind and will... when DOGE gets done...

China can control adverse reactions that effect their people much more than the US can. When COVID hit China they imposed draconian restrictions that the people accepted.
Yes they can... however...

Take Xi for example. He's the country's leader. But he's been engaged in a fight with the armed forces. Xi does NOT control the Chinese armed forces, even though he's technically the head of the armed forces. He can't pick and choose who he wants in the top job, and he's had picks for different high level roles and they've been kicked out because they didn't do what the armed forces wanted.

China is far more complicated than you'd think.

Smoking: China implemented a smoking ban more than 10 years ago, but because they've decided that letting the men (50% or more of men smoke, with women it's probably like 5%) smoke is an easy way of keeping them happy without having to do much (and make money as the CCP controls all the cigarette companies).

Their legitimacy is based on being seen as a) Communist or Socialist and b) keeping the people relatively happy.

If the economy were to go downhill, people might start grumbling, which causes hard choices to be made which threat the top CCP leaders' jobs (or lives).

I don't think so.

For China this is very serious. Their whole economy could collapse. You're looking at $500 billion or more at stake. The CCP can't afford to lose this.

So, they treat Trump like a dangerous wild animal. They research how the animal works, and then they go about dealing with it smartly.

They're standing there while a bear sniffs their balls and knowing that if they don't move, the bear won't eat them.
I had this vague sense of dread going into this regime, but whatever it was, it wasn't enough.

The 25th Amendment is damn near worthless, since there's no reason to believe Vance would be any better. I have no idea what he actually is.

I don't like saying that this country deserves this, but it does. We elected him.

Vance, I believe, is just following the Trump playbook. Nobody knows what he is because he doesn't want to show it. He's just verbally farting day in, day out so people remember his name.

Actually we elected a man who would bring down grocery prices on day one. Who would end wars in 24 hours.
Who would cut taxes and not touch social security.
We elected someone who would bring manufacturing back to the US very quickly.

That's not what we got.

I'll address your first paragraph, the last is not worth the time.

The United States needs to develop a comprehensive and sustainable plan to reduce the trade deficit with China. President Trump’s approach to slashing a deficit that has been growing steadily for over 45 years is unlikely to succeed. Even if he were able to pressure China—and a few other major trading partners—into a deal, any resulting agreement would likely be short-lived. Trade negotiations are not about securing one grand bargain; they require continuous, incremental progress through daily engagement and a long-term strategy.

What’s truly needed is a bipartisan, congressionally approved plan aimed at reducing the trade deficit over the next decade. As part of this strategy, the U.S. Trade Representative should be required to deliver an annual report to Congress, outlining measurable progress and adjustments toward clearly defined goals.
Are you privy to behind the scenes negotiations? Or are you just watching CNBC and regurgitating the anti Trump nonsense mindlessly?

Experts this, experts that, where has that got us? Into national decay, that’s where. This president wants our power as a nation back, and you sound like you’re happy on your knees.

Regardless, in the end all you can do is bitch. Talk about not worth the time….pfft.

I hope you people remember this someday when, and if dems ever find power again…

Y’all will have less than four weeks to transform the world before we call YOU failures.

Just amazing.

190 other countries all have tariffs on us, but only when America levies a tariff on them, in most cases only half of what they have on us, it becomes a horrible, reckless, untenable plan by an unhinged maniac.

And despite the USA having enormous leverage over countries like China (75% of everything Canada makes is meant for export to the USA!), they all have us over a barrel with secret strings attached ready to devastate America?

America is caught cold dead to rights with our pants around our ankles, right?

For 60 years, this country has been painting itself into an economic and military corner and not a single person in Washington saw it coming nor planned for it?

Donald Trump correctly realizes that there is no longer room on this planet for TWO BMOCs. He is calling China's bluff. He is putting the screw to the wall. Things could get real bad. Thing is, while the chinese have no choice and Xi don't care if millions there die, the question is, how many American's are ready and willing to do what it takes to stop China from totally owning us before it is too late?

You are 100 % right.

Typing partisan nonsense with no facts is all you can do.
Trump has a 53% approval and democrats have a 21% approval.
Sucks to be a democrat, huh?

And Ukraine and Greenland...
And the western US and TN---anywhere there are a lot of rocky mountains. It just isn't good politics to turn Pike's Peak and Dollywood into a vast wasteland. China is just willing to grind down its mountains.

Could China bring down the entire West this way?
Anything is possible when China decides to make it so.. They do not have all the restrictions western democracies have. Neither do they have our freedoms. In the end they are the losers.

Probably.
China will never give away it's top technology to the West the way many of the USA's Democrat presidents gave to China.

Now, the USA has to get on it's knees and beg China for our military supplies.
We are such imbeciles (all American leaders who built this) Tic Tok.

How did so many people believe this stuff?

It's not that simple. It was also a backlash to the inept oafs the Democrats were pushing on the people.

The Democrats instead of being an alternative party were Republican's that supported a right to pee in whatever restroom you chose.

They are like huge bee hive.

Well, it's a start.....
Not much of one....but it's a start. What is needed is geologists. But currently finding one that knows something beyond how to dig for gold or oil? Now that's doing something.
