Other than that, you should be expected to make your own way in life. The government doesn't owe a living for being born. We can't afford more. I know it's not fair, but it's the reality all the same. Our grandparents spend too much so that our parents could have more. Our parents spend too much because their parents taught them that deficits don't matter. Now, our parents are yelling at us to pay down the debt that has been accumulated for decades. Like it or not, we are going to have to make sacrifices so that our children do not suffer catastrophe.

What we do need is to be better at what we can do. Instead of more education, we need to transform our educational system to be more effective and relevant. Instead of more taxes, we need less spending with the ultimate goal being that one day our children just might be able to realize Coolidge's dream of lower taxes and fewer people paying them.
