People also seem to forget "receivers" in the past c/b physically assaulted just trying to get open to catch a pass! You could literal tackle any player on the field whether the ball was coming to you or not! It was why I give QB's more credit for their winning when it was more a defensive game w/ plenty of "running-back" action! I didn't see it, but back in the 50's w/ Jim Brown, the whole place knew he was getting the ball, but he still created a rec. that lasted decades w/ just 9 seasons of play B4 retiring! RB's need twice those yrs. these days w/ only 1 or 2 who can threaten the seasonal rec. for rushing! KC can never be "the Evil Empire!" They're too busy having fun, looking relaxed, profitting w/ endorsements, & enjoying each other's success! Reid has a chance to threaten Belichick's #'s, but he'll probably retire long before that happens!

Johnny U was the greatest QB of his time, It's always fun to speculate about athletes playing eras but that's all it is, speculation. He was a great pure passer but not mobile.

Unlike brady and Mahomes he played in an era where REAL men played quarterback,without skirts,he got tossed around like a ragdoll back then,so these two for sure are not even in the top 20 greatest of all time,let alone the greatest ever,best in their era but not all time like the media billed brady to be and will do the same with Mahomes.it’s just all for the newest storyline. Montana also played in a much tougher era than Mahomes and Brady,closer to Unitas era.

not sure about Mahomes sense he appears tougher and has not missed a game in his career,but brady is a wuss,he wouldn’t even last one year in the league back in that era,he couldn’t even take a routine minor hit to the knee without going down for the year. Unitas had to go through thst on a routine basis week after week back then.Brady would never agree to play football in that era,he went and whined to goddel to change the rules on hits on quartterbacks after thst.Sense the early 2000s,quarterbacks got skirts put on them.especially brady and Mahomes.

It really all comes down to who the refs are of Mahomes getting special treatment I have noticed,some love him and some hate him it appears.earlier this year in their first game on a Monday night game against the ravens he was shoved viciously out of bounds long after getting out of bounds yet incredibly,no flag was thrown.

Then in a game against the niners a niners player shoved him in the throut right in front of the official a few feet away and looking at it yet no flag thrown,shit had thst been brady,not only would a flag have been thrown,he would have been ejected as well.players could not even breath on him with out a flag being thrown.many players complained how if they just barely tapped him,a yellow flag would get thrown.no way in hell would he have agreed to play in Unitas era,not happening.that’s as much realistic as me being president of the United states right Fiero425

Resurrect Unitas from the grave and have come into this league now as a 23 year old,his career would have lasted into his 40s and threw fir twice as much yards,he would be saying this is too easy,these quarterbacks got it made in the shade these days. Back in his day querterbacks retired in theyr mid 30,s,now with the day and age of skirts,their careers are longer and they aren’t retiring until their 40;s now.

Johnny would feel like he had died and had gone to heaven if he could play in this day and age where qbs have skirts on them.

It all depends on how long Mahomes plays and how long Reid coaches. I think Reid was coaching the Eagles (who he must love beating in the Super Bowl) back in like 2003, was probably an assistant long before that, so he will probably hang it up before Mahomes does. If those two stay together for 10 more years than Brady might get eclipsed by Mahomes, who I think is more talented than Brady ever was.

But Brady is indeed the GOAT, and Mahomes might see a drop off in talent without the personal trainer, avocado ice cream, etc., etc., that allowed Brady such a long career of excellence.

Travis Kelse is retiring soon. And I don't know how a team keeps all that good talent together. Like, don't great players after they win a Superbowl end up going to another team for a lot more money? Or they get old. Lose the eye of the tiger. That's what happens in Detroit. LOL. We get close to being good, suddenly we're losing players to free agency, injury or trades.

only during the regular season dude.I just rewatched that AFC title game of the chiefs and bills and the way allen played they deserved to lose,he was mr happy feet throwing two passes early on that SHOULD have been intercepted. the chiefs dominate them in the playoffs cause allen is always mr panic mode where mahomes is mr cool.

I believe Brady, Mahomes, Wayne Gretszky and Michael Jordan all got special treatment. No doubt these leagues protect their star players. If not, the other teams will try to hurt them to knock them out of the game.

I'm going to say one thing about this cheating theory. If it's true, then the league is going to cheat for the Eagles this year. Because Patrick Mahomes doesn't have a rival. Josh Allen isn't a rival of his. Maybe regular season but that doesn't mean shit. And the league wasn't going to cheat for the Bills because everyone wants to see the Chiefs in the Superbowl. BUT, if the league wants more ratings, they better throw the game to Philly. Because then Patrick Mahomes will have a rival. The ref favoritism thing is an excuse. For the team that loses. The Chiefs have plenty of bad calls that go against them. Every game. But they usually win anyway so there's no incentive for the team, or the fans, to whine about the calls. If the Chiefs had been losing all those close games, their fans could build a narrative that it was the bad calls that lost them the games. And it would still just be an excuse.

On almost every level, the Eagles are better. They have at least an equal pass rush and pass defense as the Chiefs defense, Carter is just as disruptive as Chris Jones, the Eagles offense has a better running game and their WR's and are better than the Chiefs. Goedert a good TE, but no Kelce. Their defensive scheme is so much improved with Vic Fangio coaching it, some call him the OG, and he is the equal of Spags, but without the rings.

The Chiefs are far better in the two most important positions on Sunday, head coach and quarterback, and that's why I am not taking 1.5 points with such a talented offense and at least as good a defense as the Chiefs have, but in the 4th quarter, do you trust Hurts enough to make up the deficit if they find themselves trailing?

The Chiefs are actually more comfortable playing from behind in big games, some teams are like that, the Patriots were, and remember, they won most of their early Super Bowls by a FG, and they pulled off the greatest comeback ever against the Falcons.

Can't bet against Reid and Mahomes, even though the Eagles have a team that could outscore these Chiefs this year.
