Chiefs on cusp of being greatest NFL Dynasty in history

It's fun comparing Mahomes to Brady - but he's got a long way to go. Even if he gets the threepeat.

The one thing I noticed, early on at least, is that Mahomes is just more likeable than Brady. I read an apt description a few years ago that described Brady as having the persona of the typical BMOC jock who got his kicks stuffing nerds into lockers. Whereas Mahomes' persona is closer to the nerd Brady was stuffing into the locker!

That's all changed a bit in the last year or two, as the Chiefs have been more dominant and less exciting to watch. And grossly overexposed. But that's the way it goes.
It all depends on how long Mahomes plays and how long Reid coaches. I think Reid was coaching the Eagles (who he must love beating in the Super Bowl) back in like 2003, was probably an assistant long before that, so he will probably hang it up before Mahomes does. If those two stay together for 10 more years than Brady might get eclipsed by Mahomes, who I think is more talented than Brady ever was.

But Brady is indeed the GOAT, and Mahomes might see a drop off in talent without the personal trainer, avocado ice cream, etc., etc., that allowed Brady such a long career of excellence.

I would just like to see an evenly reffed game without the usual 4th quarter calls/non-calls that ALWAYS go the Chiefs way. They already have the advantage in better coaches, QB and Super Bowl experience.

It has something to do with Taylor Swift

Refs with teen daughters will not rule against the Chiefs

Montana was on a pedestal high above all others when I was young; now he's not even mentioned in the same breath as Brady, Mahomes, Manning, Elway, & Rodgers! The QB's w/ all the stats aren't brought up either due to no SB's wins; Tarkington, Marino, & Kelly! Bradshaw never got any credit even w/ 4 SB's due to "Steel Curtain!" The masses are already anointing Mahomes the best due to his career start & changing the name of the AFC Conf. Game to the KC Invitational! Brady has 7 SB's, but if Mahomes gets help from Refs, so did Tom starting w/ win over Oakland assisted by "The Tuck Rule!" :stir: :D

It's so crazy how much Mahomes has relied on Kelce during this 5 year run, Kelce has 18 receiving TD's, the next closest receiver is Tyreek with 5.

Tyreek is also second in receiving yards, with something like 700 or 800, while Kelce has roughly twice as many yards, over 1600 yds I think it is.

If you have an all time great Tight End like Kelce or Gronk you're going to go to them a lot. They are huge targets and make the catches when you need them the most.

Agreed. And I don’t know how Kelce does it, but he consistently seems to get himself WIDE OPEN in the middle of the field when a big play is needed.

Somebody cover that man.

It makes no sense, it's not like the guy has speed, and he is not even that physical, but he is Hall of Fame worthy on hs ability to get open.

This would likely lock in Mahomes as Brady's equal, it would also elevate Andy Reid into the Bill Belichick comparison, some may say they don't have enough rings to compare them but they will have done something no other NFL dynasty has done.

The record for playoff comeback wins when trailing in the 4th qtr is Tom Brady with 9, Mahomes already has 6.

But this is what can make KC unique:

No team has ever 3 peated. No team has ever gone to 3 straight Super Bowls, the back to back champs always lost in their Championship round.

This is the list of teams that made 5 Finals in 6 years:

2105-2019 Warriors
1980's LA Lakers
NY Yankees 2x 1990s-2000s
1980's NY Islanders
1980's Edmonton Oilers
2020's ChiefsM
Mahomes isn't in Brady's league, and he will never be because he won't last as long for one simple reason. Mahomes runs often, and Brady never ran. Brady did it with his arm and his brain. Mahomes does it with his athleticism. Mahomes is destined to get hurt. Brady played until age 45 and won about as long. Mahomes won't be doing this stuff at age 38.

Mahomes is a marketing gold mine, being bi-racial, affable, and successful. So many commercials during games feature blacks or mixed-race couples.

You may be underestimating Mahomes. He runs, but he is strategic when he runs. And he stays cool in the biggest moments which is what the all-time greats have in common.

Not saying he's not great. Just saying he's going to eventually get hurt because he runs quite often.

This would be the 7th SB in Chiefs history. If they win, it's number 5. In the long-range history of the Chiefs and Patriots, the Chiefs have had more success relative to winning seasons. But, until Mahomes get 7 or 8, Brady is the goat. And now we see all the idiocy because the Chiefs are winning. WTF does DEI have to do with anything? Allen didn't get that first down and that's not why the Chiefs got 32 points.

They can't. That's why he's going to the hall.

That made a remarkable amount of sense. And DEI has absolutely NOTHING to do with the NFL because there is no truer meritocracy in America than the NFL.

The ref who made the spot could not even see the football, overriding the official from the other side who could see the football. And, from replay you could clearly see that official had a better spot for Buffalo.
---Matt Swensson, the league's vice-president of emerging products and technology, said the tracking data now enables officials to adjust spots after punts fly out of bounds. Swensson also said the NFL is testing systems that would “marry up data and video” during replay reviews of touchdowns, like Jones’ in late October, and perhaps tell officials whether a ball hidden among bodies crossed an end-zone plane.---

If he's facing zone, Kelce will often just abandon his route and go to the soft spot between zones. Mahomes knows this, so when can't find an open WR he just throws it to the hole, knowing that Kelce is going there.

Yeah. And he's got to quit abusing the rules protecting QBs. He's not the only one doing it - Allen is even worse, but it's not a good look.

He made a touchdown run earlier in the season - ran it into the endzone - and steamrolled a big linebacker headon. Knocked him on his butt. The press made a big deal out of it, like Mahomes had really trucked the guy. But if you look closely, he bowled over the linebacker because the linebacker pull off at the last second - trying to avoid a roughing call.

I think they need to consider the situation - specifically whether a defender could have avoided the shot after the QB slides or downs the ball. Like, if a QB is running in the open field and a defender lunges to make a tackle, and the quarterback immediately slides before the actual contact. Is the defender supposed to stop in mid air?

Has he been on the injury report in the past 7 years? How many games has he missed due to injury? Not sure where you are getting this from, the man's past history indicates the opposite is true.
