I find it hilaarious that magas have a problem with this. They are all virulently anti foreign aid and yet in their thick maga way fail to realise that there is another power that will happily fill that void.
If they had a brain they might ponder what would happen if they stop supporting Ukraine and retreat further into their comfort zone.
Of course they let trump do their "thinking" for them. That will not end well.

Nothing to do with Carter or Obama, it is due to our actions and inactions in these areas.

Panama opened up bids to foreign corporations to build a 4th bridge over the canal and not one single US company even put in a bid, but you can bet Chinese ones did. Then we whine because China is gaining too much influence

Under both Trump and Biden the US went from March of 2018 till Nov of 2022 without an Ambassador to Panama. And then we whine when China gains more influence.

There are few countries of more strategic importance than Panama as we could not even bother to have an official ambassador for more than 4 fucking years.

China is kicking our ass and it is due to our own fucking stupidity.

China loves what is happening in Ukraine, its two real rivals are wasting money and resources while it spreads its economic power.

The reason it is helping Russia is that it prolongs the war there, keeping us wasting our money and resources.

American policy in latin America has been to undermine democratically elected politicians and incite sedition. Its difficult for any small country when you have bad neighbours..

I think its jokers like the trumpers who dont get it. But their lack of education probably drives that. Its very depressing.
If America had spent the years helping these people there wouldnt be chinese ports, Cuba wouldnt be welcoming the russian fleet and there wouldnt be millions of refugees queing on the border.

I do not believe that. I do believe we have some influence government though. We have given a lot of money to other nations. The money many tines does not trickle down too much. One thing though. Unlike Europe they at least have had mostly peace. Europe has had wars like someone playing a good pinball machine. The government leaders believe in the policies of something for nothing and they end up hurting their nations. The United States got it right from the beginning when the population was small. It became the power of the Western World. Any other nation could have done that in the Americas. They did not.
