chicken hawk!!!!!

i am sitting around...i hear one of the hens fussing...i assume its the mean ass yoda deviling them...but the hen gets louder...i look out the window and see a tail sticking out of the ditch....i wonder why buddy the brave is holding down a hen in the ditch...then realize buddy is with me...we all run out....me, buddy the brave and thor the doberman...and a chicken hawk flies off...i cant find a chicken or feathers and all my hens are larger breeds....

but then here is what i did find...




one of my barred rocks covered in mud....



the hawk must have hit her with power knocking her over on her side....but then couldnt pick her up

okay it most likely was a red tailed hawk

it has taken hours for the hens to regroup and come back out
