The rate of increase slowed from the first to the second quarter of 2021. The homicide rate still was much below that of the early 1990s, 15 deaths per 100,000 residents compared 28 murders per 100,000 in 1993.

I agree. Chicago has some of the toughest gun laws in the country yet they don't seem to get it. The gun is the tool. The person using it is the weapon and those people can get guns anywhere. Get rid of the people using the guns and you won't need gun control.
