With all the nonsense here and at school, what's happening in Venezuela has gotten away from me as far as posting goes. Chavez has managed to pull a sheet from Hitler and/or Castro. I'll get around to it in all liklihood, but for now, this addresses the aftermath:

Venezuela's Chavez slams Bush on Iraq

By IAN JAMES, Associated Press WriterThu Feb 1, 2:26 PM ET

President Hugo Chavez dismissed Washington's concerns that Venezuela's democracy is under threat, saying a "dictatorship" led by President Bush poses a true threat to democracy around the world.

Condemning the war in Iraq, the Venezuelan leader said that Bush and John Negroponte, a former director of national intelligence who is designated for the No. 2 position in the State Department, should be tried for "war crimes" committed by the U.S. military across the globe.

"The two of them are criminals. They should be tried and thrown in prison for the rest of their days," Chavez told a news conference.

"If he had any dignity, the president of the United States would quit. The U.S. president doesn't have the political or moral capacity to govern," he added.

Chavez was responding to comments made on Wednesday by Bush, who said he was concerned about Venezuela's democracy.

"I am concerned about the undermining of democratic institutions. And we're working to help prevent that from happening," Bush said in an interview with Fox News....

Say what you like about Chavez, I agree with this statement:

"If he had any dignity, the president of the United States would quit. The U.S. president doesn't have the political or moral capacity to govern," he added.

Funny how liberals, socialists, and terrorists seem to agree on a great many things these days.

No political or moral capacity? Must we remind you that he is still our politically elected President, leader of the Republican party, and duh, still has two more years to serve whether or not there is no Republican majority in Congress. He still has the political capacity to VETO, not to mention he is still Commander-in-Chief (which really chaps the liberal ass) plus he still has the presidential pulpit. I'd say he still has plenty political clout. Bush's morals have never been in question, except by demented liberals who hate defending the U.S. Liberals IMO haven't got a leg to stand on when it comes to morals.

However, if Bush did step down, would you be happy with Cheney stepping in? :muahaha:

Chavez is the one who has no dignity. Remember he was the one who called Bush a smelly debbil at the UN. Real class act…not. Bush wouldn't even stoop to dignify Chavez with a reply. Chavez is a bully and a boor on the world stage. No dignity there whatsoever.

Besides, I'd think twice before agreeing with an enemy of the USA. :wtf:

It doesn't surprise me that you would find something in common with Chavez.

True story. I was in what you guys would call 3rd grade when it came across the intercom that Nixon was going to resign. My teacher then went to the staff room to get something. One of the kids piped up "My dad says Richard Nixon is resigning because he's a crook". Another kid piped up "I'm gonna tell Mrs Hare (my teacher) on you"....Sure enough, the teacher comes back, Kid Two says "Mrs Hare, Martin said Mr Nixon is a crook"..To which Mrs Hare replied "he is". My first experience with a US president. My second memory is Lynette "squeaky" Fromme trying to top Ford. But the first time I became interested in politics were the Raygun years...

No, not a left coaster.

HOpe you are right re the 40s...
