deep within the statistical brain!!
The Census Bureau has launched a new interactive mapping tool which allows people to see data down to the neighborhood level.

It is decribed here:

Census Bureau Introduces New Interactive Mapping Tool along with Latest American Community Survey Statistics - American Community Survey (ACS) - Newsroom - U.S. Census Bureau

Here is the census explorer itself:

Census Explorer

Go check it out, can have many useful applications. I can imagine that people in the real estate business and people wanting to build a business and are considering location could find this to be an outstanding tool.

Enjoy.

Damn. You keep this kind of thing up, and you are going to be on the hate list of every 'Conservative' on this board. But THANK YOU anyway. Interesting source.

It is just a totally cool tool for getting a good geographical overview of certain types of demographic data, without knowing any one personal piece of data.

This is the kind of stuff that firms have been scraping together for themselves by digging for material any way they can. The Census Bureau just did a whole lot of people a favor, and that have absolutely nothing to do with politics.

Thinking of building an old foks home in, say, upper Minnesota. Well, use the tool to see where there is an especially thick grouping of the +65ers and boom, you have opportunities!

Wanna build condos, but only for a certain price class, in say, Georgia? Well, use the tool.

A great addition would be things like average power and light prices, by zip code or neighborhood, gas prices, etc....

A true information grid for everyone. I love it.

Info is power. And power sets you FREE.
