CBS cancels 'The Late Show,' Stephen Colbert to end program in May 2026

No it's not......................$100 million a year to produce the show, $40 million loss.

All of the late night comedy hours have lost 50% since the last seven years.

Kimmel and others probably next.
Bashing Trump isn't "funny"! People are tired of the TDS. They've stopped watching. CNN's ratings are in the toilet. MSNBC's are even worse. Even the hardcore leftists don't want to watch if Trump is always winning. They know he's kicking ass and it burns them to see it happening.

Not sure if you remember, Colbert's show was literally tanking and ready for cancellation............along came Trump and all the left BS..........he literally owes his whole existence to Trump.

Jimmy Kimmel is paid 16 million dollars a year for 1.7 million viewers each night....

Colbert was paid 15 million a year, for over 2 million viewers, and he was just fired.....

Jimmy Kimmel needs to learn how to code.....

No, that number is weekly totals, including those who tuned in for a minute or two and switched the channel. Coldfart got a little over 219,000 viewers a night. That hardly justifies a $15,000,000 a year salary. The show is hemorrhaging money.

Kimmel surged ahead with 220,000 viewers—his strongest performance in a year—edging out Colbert (219,000) and leaving Fallon (at 157,000) in a distant third.

The point is the networks allowed this to go on. It is like they did not care if they had losses, the almighty Progressive Socialist State rules. TV is still woke with people like Colbert and its entertainment and movies. Once we had a choice of hundreds of stations it gave the woke extremists an advantage. Add up all the woke with all the programs and it is high of people watching and swayed. Progs did this to themselves. And they still are in control of the propaganda. Trump is putting pressure on them and suing them as he learned from his first term. Some of the people inside his administration did not help.

When you play to the 21 percent that actually approve of the Demafascit party, you just aren’t gonna get the ratings needed to stay in business

/---/ I bet that there are hundreds of stand-up comedians who would gladly be the host of the Late Show for $200,000 a year. Just be evenhanded like Carson and Leno.

I wonder how much money they are losing on Kimmel every year...

Colbert's Late Night show had TWO HUNDRED EMPLOYEES and was losing $40 Million per year. The CBS settlement with Trump was only 16 million. Colbert was cancelled because he sucks balls and is about as funny as a case of the Shingles. Kimmel and Myers are next.

I think that little tirade helped it along.

Statisticly, one third of his viewers are going to die in the next 5 years. They are not getting new young viewers

I am suprised they waited this long to pull the plug.

That is basically what it boils down to. Because Paramount Global, who owns CBS, wants to merge with a company called Skydance Media. The approval for such a deal requires the approval of the FCC. But the FCC does what president Trump says. So, in effect, it is president Trump who is cancelling The Late Show with Steven Colbert.

CBS claims they are doing so for financial reasons. Which may or may not be the case. But with it being the most popular late night talk show, it is hard to believe that it is actually losing money. I think the real reason it is being cancelled is because Steven Colbert is anti-Trump and often ridicules the stupid things Trump does.

In other words, The Late Show with Steven Colbert is often a program for reason. Trump shouldn't be allowed to silence the opposition. So if you are a subscriber to Paramount +, I think you should cancel your subscription. Or if you watch anything on CBS, (Apart from The Late Show with Steven Colbert while it lasts) you should watch something else.
