.Yeah, some dogs, especially if trained properly. But do not sell cats short. Some cats are stupid and docile, but a smart cat, properly trained, will tear you up if it doesn't know you and you try to pick it up without permission from its owner!
At one time I had a cat, all white, about 12 pounds (pretty big male) who left claw marks in concrete during one cat fight, then got into it with some big dog, the dog more than likely started it, and my cat jumped on the dog, dug in, then rode him like a horse up the street for a block as the dog yelped and cried in pain.
When he felt the dog had suffered enough, he jumped off and came home and went to sleep.
Pets are a lot like children, they all need a little molding and guidance.
I love your kitty!
I have stuck with female Mini Aussies because they are crazy-tough biotches! Both of the ones I've had have loved putting bigger dogs on the ground. My last one literally chased away the wandering pit mix in our old neighborhood. She was just twelve pounds of nuts!
The one I've got now has intimidated the crap out of the one non-dog loving mail carrier we've had. He makes me hold her in my arms while I'm signing the forms.
If I need to have a repairman or installer in the house, or even the few politicians I've recently had come to the door -- I'll ask them if they're dog lovers and if they respond in the affirmative, I'll let her out the door, she'll give them a good sniff, and then she's immediately on her back for a belly rub.
