Naturally, I support an orderly immigration policy.

In theory, only documented immigrants should be allowed to enter.

In theory, the undocumented should be interned until they are deported.

But some people feel that the United States is reaping what it has sown.

Starting in the 1930s and emphasized in the 1950s, the United States suppressed efforts to improve the economic situation in Central America. This country overthrew leaders whom it labeled "communist." Those leaders often just wanted to stop American commercial interests from controlling their countries.

Life in Mexico & Central America is desperate for millions of people. Of course, they are going to head for the North. And don't forget: Mexico is in dire straits because of the drug cartels, which thrive because of people in this country who want their products.

I live in California, which spends billions each year on taking care of immigrants, mostly undocumented. When they come here, it is literally PARADISE: education for their kids, healthcare, jobs, cars, food, etc.

And don't forget: They do, in fact, create jobs: Many cops, teachers, healthcare workers, government clerks, landlords, etc. make their living by serving the immigrants.

Let's all hope that President Biden can come up with a rational and workable and humane immigration enforcement policy.
