Driving a truck is about the single most independent job one can have.
You were always well paid because truck drivers have always had support from the socialist Teamster Union.
Those who actually have to work under capitalist supervision, without unions, are hosed, and get paid about a forth what you are paid, for even harder labor efforts.

You have no idea WTF you're talking about. Very few transportation companies are union anymore. Truck drivers are paid based on supply and demand, and currently, we are over 60,000 drivers short that employers can't find. Of course they have to keep upping the wage offers.

Some have egos about it, but most donate privately. What you are advocating is socialism and I would bet a tidy sum you have no understanding about giving. A large majority of what funds research, charity and giving in this country comes from the 1% you claim to be a part of, strange how you don’t know this, could it be that you have never earned this much or is it that you may have inherited it? Or maybe you pretend to be, thus you really have no clue what the 1% does with their money…

My opinion of fellow man isn’t the issue. I’ve spent 8 years as an Elder at Christian churches which requires dutiful giving. Been off the board for 3 years now.. work too busy (sorry God). Charity is a tiny piece of our economy. There is about $400B given annually which is about 2% which is also the percentage that Christians AND non-Christians give to charity.

Charity is a tiny piece of our economy. There is about $400B given annually which is about 2% which is also the percentage that Christians AND non-Christians give to charity.

I take seriously that "charitable contributions" remain tax deductible -- meaning those who "give" are being rewarded for not paying their full share of taxes and allowed to do what they wish with that money instead. After all, who knows better what to do with it than a Jeff Bezos or Bill Gates? We obviously all win whenever a Tesla gets shot into outer space. The FFs wished for only women and slaves to pay taxes

We should help the homeless, there are countless ministries caring for our homeless population, our family has helped through street kitchens and ministries for over 35 years…
