Cannot find a job, despite lots of efforts

But a higher skilled worker today is worth a TON more than $20 hour.
Only because the government stepped in and manipulated the market by raising the minimum wage to ridiculously high levels. If you double the minimum, everyone above that demands double as well. In that scenario, there is no change to the status quo and the only people who are hurt are those on the public dole and fixed income seniors and disabled who didn't receive double their income.

I see your point. But a higher skilled worker today is worth a TON more than $20 hour. Pay me that and I laugh at you. Higher skilled workers in america should be st $60 per hour or more as that's what the law end is. My son can make $64.50 per hour working from home. And he is retiring. He's supposed to fly to Nevada next Tuesday. He won't be on the plane. He will inform his boss Sunday. Thd hr has been informed of his pending retirement. Proud of him. This is capitalism 101.
Your son has done well for himself--he is the exception rather than the rule however. He also is not an entry level employee. He made himself more valuable to the employer.

I kind of see your point. But the doors have been opened. And if I were 27 again I'd go after the $ bar none. Id stay single, work crazily, and save every last penny. That's what capitalism is all about. I' would have retired st 50 and lived a great life rather than what I did which is keep working. That was a mistake. People are figuring out this is the new dream.

Agreed. On the dingle people. But they can work, save, and not reproduce. They can retire earlier. That's called a big time win.
Single people cannot live as cheaply as married folks unless they choose to live as cohabitants of a living space, sharing all costs. I have shown the fallacies of all of your arguments regarding the logic of this economy and you refuse to see. I don't see any benefit to continuing this debate.

Yep. And he is trying to kindly stick it back at the employer. They still think he's going to meet a company client on Tuesday. But he won't be showing up.

But a single person can work and save. If they make s good wage they can invest. Take no vacations and do nothing enjoyable during their working years. Then retire early. Then walk out the door and tell the boss to stuff it. A great great great day in one's life

If anyone wantd to get the "Big Time Win" ...
Then they need to understand that is exceptional performance ... And they are going to have to produce exceptional results.

No one gets to that point without risk, vision, in some cases a little failure ... And exceptional effort to purpose.
If everyone was willing to do what is necessary ... There would be less bitching and more success stories.

It can be done though ...

One doesn't need a wife and kids to be happy. That trend is going away. If one wants it great. If not as a nation we should applaud it as well.

I'm sure the client as well as the employer will be very impressed with this irresponsible employee that you think is doing such a great job. I see it as a serious lack of integrity. But I believe in those ancient things like integrity, honesty, hard work for a honest day's pay.

This is why Democrats are losing the Hispanic vote.

Not when they can get paid to stay home and play video games and get high.

Want unemployment to go down … eliminate welfare.
Yup. I remember an Oprah show where they interviewed an overweight woman about 30 about why she took welfare when there were plenty of jobs at McDonalds.

She answered, “why should I get up early and have to wait at the bus stop in the cold, stand on my feet on day, and then take the bus home when I can sleep late and just warch TV?”

Take away welfare from lazy, irresponsible bums like that - and she’ll get a job.

If one is working full time and pulling in 50k or under some welfare is appropriate. That's a poverty salary.

Coming up tomorrow. I got a nasty cough and am still getting past this infection.

Then rather make taxpayers support them, they can take advantage of Pell Grants to get some vocational training.
As a taxpayer I don't mind paying welfare especially in the world's wealthiest nation. This nation is awash in money. I agree with working but man 50 k is a kick in the face from the nation.
