Cannot find a job, despite lots of efforts

I'm sorry, but we disagree. $100K/year for unskilled labor plus pension and benefits is not low wages. You will find out what low wages are if the invasion of illegals is allowed to continue. The US is very close to becoming a third world country and your arrogance will lead to a very rude awakening.
What unskilled jobs are paying 100k? None like that around here.

I live in a small town in WA and the McDs here is hiring at $22 to start. I won't eat there.
Smart. Fast food is a terrible thing to do to oneself. We cook all meals. Are you in rural WA? Man it's beautiful out there in those rural areas. Great hiking. I could live there easily.

Are you talking about those who build airplanes? Those putting the planes together? You want them working for less? Those turning the wrench That ensures the safety of the plane are more than worth that pay.

I have been trying to search for a job, for many months. I remember a few years ago, I would send out resume to a few postings and would easily get like 5, 6 interviews. But now, there is pretty much nothing. I made compromises, made sure my availability was good, and tried the best I could to make myself attractive to employers, but still nothing. And it's not just me, people I talk to online also seem to be having trouble finding jobs. It just seems that the economy is really bad right now.

I think a lot of people are happy that Trump won the election. I am sort of happy, in the sense that I am glad it wasn't a Dem who won. But I honestly don't think Trump would do much to make things better for the average people. It's the same in my country. Politicians, they are all the same. They talk a great deal, promising us this and that, but at the end of the day, they enrich themselves and their campaign donors, reward their cronies with money that comes from us, and they don't care about us at all. Nowadays I would settle for a prime minister that does not shaft us too badly. This is a sad thing to aim for, but it's how bad it is.
Keep trying but hopefully you can hold on until the Trump team can get fully mobilized and working effectively. We need the GOP controlled Congress to pass immigration reform quickly and that MUST include a strong provision making it illegal to hire migrants without green cards and tightening the amnesty laws to what they used to be when they were much MUCH more difficult to abuse.

Jimmy Carter tried to outlaw hiring non citizens without green cards in the late 1970's but it was poorly enforced and by the time Reagan was elected they pretty much gave up on it. Then Reagan gave amnesty to the three million illegals who were here at the time on condition that no more would be allowed in except through normal immigration channels. Obviously, the Biden Administration has made no effort to enforce that but has invited and waved in and encouraged tens of millions of illegals to invade us.

I am quite certain hundreds of thousands of illegals are now holding jobs needed by Americans. I am also certain Trump and his team will try to correct that as quickly as it can reasonably be done.

A factory worker that does exactly the same unskilled work day after day is not worth $100K and benefits. If they were, planes wouldn't be falling out of the sky and doors wouldn't be falling off in flight because no one put the bolts in. Have you ever heard the saying, "You had one job...."? The skilled labor jobs are making substantially more than the unskilled.

Sure, that's good for the economy, eh? Do you figure an entry level job getting a reasonable entry level wage is better than no job at all?
Well then post jobs for $15 per hour. Problem solved. Where's the issue?

He's in the UK, Foxfyre. I doubt Trump's policies will have much affect on his situation.
Oh okay. I missed that part. I am guessing migrants invading the U.K. are not especially good for their citizens either.

I do think a strong, free, prosperous America will be good for the U.K. and all our trading partners though and that should help the job market everywhere. Might take a bit longer for those effects to ripple out into the world, but I am hopeful they are coming.

Or someone without work experience for several months while they work uo the ladder, or get career training.
Agreed. I would have never worked in fast food. A kid here can make $40 for cutting lawn for 30 minutes. That's much better work experience.

Too many people would rather sit at home and get welfare. We must remove that option.
I'm ok with that ad long as they get additional welfare as an adult cannot survive on those wages. That equals another homeless person.

Do we need people doing Fast food jobs other than the owner? Why don't they work there full time and hire 1 or 2 people?
