Actually, the USA right have only one type of tactical nuclear weapons - gravity bombs B61 with changing yield from 0,3 to 340 kt. Whatever is the yield - it won't significantly harm US soil.

Canada, as far as I know, doesn't have hardened targets (like silos) to be destroyed by surface bursts. And aerial burst don't cause fallouts.
And anyway, its a way better to eliminate British nukes on the Canadian soil, rather to allow them to nuke American cities.
