US is really unprepared for a low intensity guerrilla warfare full of random attacks to create financial damage....
It is not a case could US take Canada and hold it, it is how much would it cost? The attacks on infrastructure and institutions would create havoc and have a huge security bill...

As far as Canada is concerned, more Canadians immigrate to the U.S. than the opposite.
I've been to Canada several times especially the Calgary Round up and Lethbridge to hunt. Great people and more like America than a foreign country.
The majority of Canadians other the the French quarter of Canada are more prone to becoming part of America than remaining a Commonwealth of the U.K.

We are talking about a country who's .mil is so FUBAR that they let their small force of Canadian Rangers run out of replacement parts for their #4 Longbranch Enfields.

Never mind that they made the Longbranch Enfield there and fuckin' melted down the tooling.

Then to add insult to injury they surplused off thousands upon thousands of the rifles to the US commercial market. I have two of them myself.

They ended-up buying new 7.62 NATO bolt action rifles from Tikka in Finland. Nice rifles to be sure but reports from the field say that they are not holding up as well as the #4s.
