Just took an IQ test for the hell of it. It wasn't one of the free ones either.

Mine is in the top 1% as well. No need for me to get more specific than that.

Also, not to burst your bubble, but neither you nor I is in Einstein’s range (or Jobs or Hawking), all of whom were in the 160 range. That’s considered genius level.
Amazing how smart you can be and still be wrong.

Very nice. Though I would ask about your scores in Wisdom, Intellect, and Instinct; all of which, combine with intelligence to create actual Smarts. Or so I was taught many years ago.

I’ve known too many bright, intelligent folks with absolutely no wisdom or instinct who I really wouldn’t call “smart”.

My IQ was tested twice, once when I was about 12 and once when I was about 35. Both times it was 142. That was very surprising, considering that part of an IQ test is how long it takes one to do it, and obviously that is something that will never be a constant depending on a number of factors. I'd take another, but I'm too damn preoccupied and my eyes ain't too good no mooore! :hmpf:

I have taken two supervised, actual, IQ test. First one was offered to me when I was 16, the 2nd one I was 24 or so. Both were very close to the same finding.
Internet based IQ test notoriously give higher numbers than valid testing. Sometimes by a LOT.
I doubt very much you are 134, that is very unlikely. However, if you scored 134 in a "decent" internet test, you are likely in the low 120s. Which is a very good place to be. That would place you in the top 6%.
For fun taking internet tests I have scored between 150-160. Quite Higher than actual.

Or as we say here out West;
"Couldn't pour piss out of a boot if the instructions were written on the heel."

And BTW - I have no idea why they placed Hawking/Einstein as "similar IQ" - both are believed to be 160 or higher

Emotion determines how intelligence is applied

If you took it online its worthless. You need to take the Weschsler Adult Intelligence scale
Worthless for attaining a number, but good for a sense of intelligence. Like I said, they overwhelmingly score people higher than they actually are.
A dumb person is not going to score 134 without serious cheating. Even an average person is not going to get that without cheating a little. So she did well (unless she cheated :D)

After I complained about cognitive loss after my first AVM surgery, my therapist referred me to a doctoral psych. student doing work & research at the nearby state university.

I went over there for three weekends in a row, about four to five hours every weekend, for a battery of different types of intelligence tests including the Stanford-Binet Intelligence Test. I didn't think that one was really the most insightful/probing of them TBH.

After my results came in, my therapist concluded that, given where I was falling on the population distribution, I had no reason to complain. I didn't like that way of thinking, a loss is still a loss. But. . . . after learning and living CBT and stoicism for well over a decade now, I see that this counselor who marveled at how much smarter I was than him, was actually very insightful, and in the end, correct.
