Canada Retaliates

List of products from the United States subject to 25 per cent tariffs effective February 4, 2025

There is going to be a second, broader round of retaliatory tariffs three weeks from now.

You will be paying more for tobacco, produce, household appliances, firearms, military gear, passenger vehicles, trucks, beverages, cosmetics, paper products, steel and aluminum products, certain fruits and vegetables, beef, pork, dairy products and more.

Stock market futures have been taking a steep dive ahead of tomorrow's market opening.
Sooo....at 3.5 percent of our GDP as opposed to 40 percent for Canada how are they going to retaliate?

Mexico committed to sending thousands of troops to the border under Biden. And it didn’t take a trade war to accomplish that.

Newsflash… it had little effect on illegal imkigratiom by the way

Newsflash 10 million illegals on Bidens watch

30 day delay when Mexico said it will send 10000 troops to border. Canada made a deal not sure what it was.

Help stop illegal immigration here and stop the drugs or get Tarrifs. Its Simple
And then he turned around and put tariffs on them anyway the next week.

China has already retaliated. The EU announced they are retaliating. Canada will retaliate as well.

Take a good look at how much of Mexuxo and Canadas GDPs are off exports to the U.S.

SweetSue ain’t so sweet
Nah, shes all right. Just gets influenced by the wrong people.
Ive noticed that cult posters on here seem to see tarriffs as some sort of schoolyard fight.
It is clear why trump employs this tactic when his supporters have the intellect of carrots.

Exactly, some of the comments seems to argue that just because it will be more painful for economicaly smaller countries then therefore it will be worthwhile for us.
Its also baffling that the US is working to destabilise Mexico. If controlling immigration is your aim why cause chaos in a neighbour ?
Its not joined up thinking.

We import Sidewinder missiles from Canada.

Do you know what those are?

They are the most used air-to-air missiles in our inventory. We have imported over 100,000 of them.

Omfg lol

Idiot.
Wrong, idiot.

No, the United States is selling AIM-9X Sidewinder missiles to Canada, not the other way around. The US State Department approved the sale in August 2024 for an estimated cost of $264.6 million.

U.S. auto industry is in the tariff crosshairs[/url]

Cars that are made in America aren't only made in America — they're made across North America.

  • As a result, Trump's across-the-board tariffs on all trade with Mexico or Canada risks making U.S. autos much more expensive than foreign imports.

The big picture: With modern supply chains, a single component in a vehicle can cross the U.S. border between six and eight times before final assembly.
Thus creating good incentive to have the whole thing manufactured and assembled right here. Way to make Trump's point!

Oh, I see. You want to pay more for a car.

Why, you must be some kind of genius!

You must be really pleased with tariffs on the steel used to make cars.
