To the OP, I saw the clip when the mayor said that, gee, I wonder how he got the job? Like the criminal would have registered or turned in his stolen gun.

Jonny, the issue is not the gun. It is the gun in the hands of a mad man. BTW, that officer is a superb example of 'grit', isn't he? He actually brought the idiot down.

Now uncle jonny, why are you surprised? When Democrats see a video clearly showing abuse, they don't deny truth. Who can deny his officer was assaulted, and the perp wasn't so 'dedicated' that he stuck around to complete his mission. In addition, we are between the fabled rock and hard place as a nation regarding the multitude of nutjobs we have wandering our streets. This fool's folks are saying they have been trying for years to get this guy's brain on track, and that's the dilemma. The Kennedys were rich enough to hide away daughter Rosemary, but this guy's folks were left out of a place to seek help. If we genuinely apply a program to deal with the issues of mental health it will cost a bundle, and I can't see that happening. So stiffening control of killing tools is out of the question because of a (misunderstood IMHO) 2A, and facing up to those not disciplined or smart enough to handle them responsibly is out of the question because of funding. Meantime..I hope all is well with you and your family.

A tad confused? That's an understatement; After seeing his press conference I'd say that Mayor Kenney doesn't live anywhere near same plane of reality that the rest of us occupy. If he'd have rushed to judgement any faster he'd have had the case closed before the shooting even happened.
