Certainly, Congress budgets money for the Dept of Ed, but if the legitimate functions are simply picked up by other departments, can Congress intervene.

I call your attention to the following excerpt from the story:

"According to the fact sheet, the order also aims to ensure that, throughout the process, there is no disruption in the delivery of services, programs, and benefits that Americans rely on."

It is an absolute certainty that some "education" advocacy group will file suit in a Federal District in a Leftist part of the country, but how will it play out? It's basically a matter of "You made some money available to me, and I saw no need to spend it."?

we would be much better off replacing the piece of Sh*** with something else more streamlined, efficient and focused on raising standards of learning. All something the DOE has been given every chance to do for decades. Instead they have brought harm on children.

feds have no authority to be involved in education

Common Core is a Set of Standards.

You still believe it's a 'method' of teaching?
LMAO! The same stupid, over-complicated, tricked out, redundant "methods" that everyone noticed that emerged concurrently with that "set of standards" is still there after all these years in Common Core states. You can throw definitions around all you like. It doesn't change what is obviously still going on.

Describe what you believe to be an example of Common Core.

Ok, so you don't get it or dont have the same experience. I'm not going out of my way to research and prepare an entire explanation for you. Evidently you really need to be taken along by the hand. (I and countless other people saw the co-emergence of the methods with the "standards"). If you want to think my reluctance is because I don't really "have anything" that's absolutely fine too. 🫤 It's just not worth that much time and effort to change one ignorant mind in this case.

Ignorant is claiming to 'know' what common core is, but lacking the ability to back up your claim.
There is no "New Math"

Here is an example.
This is nothing new, and kids decades ago did math in various ways.
This is just an alternative way that some students minds work.
A teacher is not going to tell the student that this 'method' is wrong and they can't think this way.

YOU claimed to know what Common Core is. I only claimed that I have witnessed the changes in education as a result. That's not ignorant. The idiotic methods unfolded right along with the "standards". I see it as a veiled New World Order attempt to indoctrinate and categorize our youth. It's like when a corporation renames an established accounting principle in their own corporate lingo. If you don't accept and use that standard, you don't move up...even you can still arrive at the same answer your own way. That is exactly what common core was designed to do: Indoctrinate. As I said, if you want to just go around quoting definitions knock yourself out. Those definitions don't do reality any justice.

The Dept. of Ed. does not educate one single child in America.

FAFO is a learning process. Renaming the DOE as FAFO might get it some support.

Suffice to say, scrap the education department so you folks can start learning and speaking correct English.
