Shit! The Gaza Peace Process is Cooked

Correct. US needs to get out and shift more power to Asia Pacific region. Station more troops in S. Korea and Japan. America's next war is either a civil war or war with China.
Russia.

Only if you want to cede the Western Pacific to Chinese dominance, as they have wanted since 1949.

And only if you don’t care about abandoning American world leadership, as Trump has been doing in Europe.
As empires fade the face three choices. They can renew and out compete, they can fade gradually, or they can resist the inevitable by killing lots and lots of people while getting their own killed in large numbers.
You may prefer the last one, I am inclined to go with one of the other two.
No one need die over Taiwan. Little matters which strong man rules them. They are chinese and will out work and out think us regardless which flag flies over the land.

As an isolationist, you clearly do not believe in “renew and out compete”.

These are not Trump values either.

Trump retreats, gets bullied, and out maneuvered pretty much regularly.

No. No matter how bad it gets, or whatever percentage of Gaza supports Hamas , the good guys don't wipe out civilian populations.

In spite of our blather, Israel will do what it likes. What Netanyahu likes is not a secret. He has very clearly laid out his goal many times: Relocation of the entire population of Gaza. And, of course, the West Bank would logically follow.

Fewer than 1 dead civilian per bomb dropped doesn't sound like they want to "wipe out civilian populations".

In addition to wiping out the population, they sought to erase it from the earth, much as the Nazis did to the Warsaw Ghetto.

In addition, Hamas reps have publicly stated that they have no intention of disarming, and the other Arab/Muslim participants have indicated they want to part of trying to disarm Hamas. Our Beloved President has hinted that Hamas would be disarmed, "one way or another."

None of this looks good. I think it's time to actuate those accusations that Gazans are victims of a genocidal campaign. They deserve nothing less.

The truism of the past 77 years remains true: If the "Palestinians" lay down their arms, the hostilities would stop. If the Israelis lay down their arms, they would be annihilated.
To be fair, whatever else the Trump plan may produce, it has so far managed to free the living hostages and bring a measure of peace to the families of those hostages the Palestinians have murdered.

The second and third great accomplishments of the Trump plan is that it has changed the perception of the conflict for those who are still able think by moving the disarmament of the Palestinians from a wish list to being a prerequisite to any further progress in ending the conflict and by requiring an internation force to occupy Gaza before the so called Palestinians can be allowed to govern it, it recognizes that the Palestinians cannot be trusted to abide by any agreements they might make; even the Arabs states have joined the call for the disarmament of Gaza as a prerequisite to self rule in Gaza.

Whatever else he may accomplish President Trump has clearly changed the conversation about ending the conflict forever.

Two weeks ago, we were told that Trump ushered in peace in the middle east.

So much for that legend. LOL
No, you were told Trump ended the war in Gaza as a firsst step toward peace in the ME, and so far that is true.

Sober up!

Yeah, you can pretty much forget about it.

You have demonstrated you have zero understanding of what is going on in Gaza.
Enough to know that there was no "peace deal".... Then again on one side is HAMAS--known terrorists group. Why you're negotiating with them is beyond me....why your "win" is their getting 2,000 soldiers back is really beyond me.

Thoughts?

Again you demonstrate that you have no idea what is going on in the ME and that you would rather see Israel fail than Trump succeed. There is no peace deal and only a blindly loyal Democrat like you would claim there was.

What you are seeing is a negotiated ceasefire and prisoner exchange and a remarkable agreement among the Arab nations that Gaza must be disarmed and demilitarized and the Palestinians there cannot be trusted to govern themselves until they are significantly reformed.

Trump promised to end the war and free the hostages, which he has done, and then to persuade the Arab nations to normalize relations with Israel to bring about a wider peace in the ME.

It is a pattern that has repeated itself many times.

Israel maneuvers the United States into a position as mediator. Alway in turn for a large dallop
of military aid.

Then a cease fire and prisoner swaps are arranged.

Then both sides take up where they left off.

Trump is only the latest to get rope a doped like this.
