I think there is a spectrum.

Also, you have to remember, that the average American is subject to at least 3 and often 4 levels of government.

The federal.
The state
The county
Municiple

And each has a purpose. My approach to municiple government is much different than my approach to the federal government.

I am more ideological at the federal level where I don't want much happening. I agree with the SCOTUS on Dobbs....that Blackmun and Co should never have touched the case. The states are now working it out.
