That doesn't appear to be his intent and the Ukrainians are far from defeated.I agree about Mariupol. It is my hope that once taken, Putin will see fit to go to cease-fire talks and an eventual settlement having seized a corridor to Crimea and sole possession of the Sea of Azov. He will be able to claim "liberation" of Russian-speaking territory and not involve himself in the occupation of a Ukrainian rump state.
This invasion will ruin him and Russia no mater how the spoils are divided.
The civilized world cannot turn a blind eye to all of the war crimes being committed and Russia will pay and pay dearly as a result.
Putin will be lucky if he can ever set foot outside of Russia again without facing arrest or assassination.
