The fact is the radical left took over the Dem party. Slowly at first, then this accelerated during the Obama terms. 2010 was a pivotal moment. For decades prior Dems told the left wing of their party to sit down, shut up and sit in the back of the room. Which infuriated them.

2010 Radical left seize total control of the Dem party - Americans, pissed at Obama and Dems for screwing with their health insurance and doctors, dished out the biggest Dem midterm loss in nearly 100 years as punishment. This mostly wiped out the remaining moderate Democrats. I remember the surviving radical leftists cheering the purge of moderates from their party.

Present Day - Americans have now suffered through the consequences of the radical left Dem policies. The shine is off. They are fed up hence Dems got their ass beat last November. The Dem base is bleeding out with the working class pulling the rip cord.

The elite of the Democratic Party is as bad as the radicals. The corrupt warmongers, the depraved plutocrats who control the party are also part of the problem.
