Several reasons:Can anyone show any reason, other than guilt, to prevent the release of the Epstein files?
Seriously.
What other reason could there possibly be?
I really wanna know.
Yeah, you are an expert at spreading bullshit.
All of those things would be solved by transparency.Several reasons:
- Protection of non-accused and non-involved individuals to prevent outcomes such as doxxing, harassment, defamation and/or misidentification.
- Preventing allegations until individuals are formally charged. This avoids libel, destroying one's life without due process or outing individuals who were investigated and never charged.
- Waiting until any pending investigations are completed.
- Intelligence community cross-over: Epstein had many contacts with foreign intelligence, political donors, and diplomats. Even if Epstein was not a spy, some people in his orbit most likely were, and exposure would compromise foreign surveillance, classified relationships, and intelligence assets.
- Unverified claims within the files, including rumors from interviews, draft memos, and disputed testimony. This will prevent the release of this type of material to prevent the courts from becoming conduits of misinformation.
So many reasons why, besides guilt and an ultra-partisan hate of one man.
Okay, genius. Transparency isn’t a magic wand. You must still protect victims, avoid defamation of uncharged individuals, and comply with existing seal orders. Pretending these constraints disappear because we want disclosure doesn’t make them vanish. All of those things would be solved by transparency.
And they are all already happening anyway.
Next excuse.
Was Trump's goal to secure the border and clean up the mess that Biden/Harris made by throwing it wide open? They all wanna make tRump rich, embarrass us on the world stage, and destroy our democracy?
Why would I not want the most powerful agency in the U.S. and maybe the world to go rogue because it doesn't like the president elected by the people?Dude, why would you NOT?
Thus the "discharge petition" and subsequent vote. Feel free to redact the names of the abused children.Okay, genius. Transparency isn’t a magic wand. Pretending these constraints disappear because we want disclosure doesn’t make them vanish.
You can’t just redact kids’ names and call it good. That file contains sealed testimony, intelligence intersections, and uncharged individuals. Courts don’t operate on ‘they deserve what they get,’ they operate on due process — otherwise the whole release gets thrown out. Thus the "discharge petition" and subsequent vote. Feel free to redact the names of the abused children.
Everybody else deserves what they get.
You have that much trust in Jeffrey Epstein? Thus the "discharge petition" and subsequent vote. Feel free to redact the names of the abused children.
Everybody else deserves what they get.
And the due process will happen. But first we need to see the files. You can’t just redact kids’ names and call it good. That file contains sealed testimony, intelligence intersections, and uncharged individuals. Courts don’t operate on ‘they deserve what they get,’ they operate on due process — otherwise the whole release gets thrown out.
Sounds like you’re arguing against the Constitution. Putting that level of ignorance on public display is bold. Hopefully, that won’t need to be redacted, too.
You’re arguing for ‘accuse everyone now, sort it out later.’And the due process will happen. But first we need to see the files.
I'm arguing for "get the lead out".. They've been sitting on this for months. Time to let the cat outta the bag. You’re arguing for ‘accuse everyone now, sort it out later.’
That’s the exact opposite of due process. It’s the reason courts don’t release raw files — because once a name is out there, the damage is irreversible, even if the person is innocent.
You obviously don't understand due process .. just hatred for a politician.
.. and **** due process and innocent people .. got it!!I'm arguing for "get the lead out".. They've been sitting on this for months. Time to let the cat outta the bag.
I don't know if it's true, but some people claim to have photos and videos. Those might be a little tough to redact. Donald wants it all released now, so wait and see is where I'm at.I'm concerned about the privacy of the alleged victims as well as the privacy of those who may be accused, particularly accused by Epstein.
Democrats have very bizarrely decided that Jeffrey Epstein is a paragon of truthfulness, so long as he is accusing or somebody, they don't like.
But, no matter who accused who of what, only Epstein and Maxwell were indicted, so those are the only names that should be released. Redact the names of the innocent, and the innocent until proven guilty, and i'm fine with releasing every word of it.
We've seen way more than enough in the last nine years of smear campaigns based on little evidence coming from our own justice department.
Why? Black boxes over faces and editing the tapes is no great trick. Are you expecting explicit videos of teen hookers going down on middle aged Sultans? Better stick with Pornhub for thatI don't know if it's true, but some people claim to have photos and videos. Those might be a little tough to redact.
If you'd rather not wait to know the outcome, I can tell you now.Donald wants it all released now, so wait and see is where I'm at.
That was only because he was.
I did see Post #13 and #16Answer the OP.
