Can anyone get into the TreasuryDirect.com website?

I was going to try and buy I bonds today but I can't get into treasurydirect.com. I guess lots of people had the same idea. Has anyone tried access the site today?

Their site is overwhelmed due to user interest in the I bond. Keep trying.

/——/ The interest rate resets Nov 1, so there is no benefit logging into it today. Just try again on Monday or Tuesday. I kept putting off buying one.

Today is the LAST day you can buy I bonds and lock in the 6 mo. 9.26% rate. Purchases after today will get the 6.48% rate.

Yeah that's what I thought, but oh well. I guess you snooze you looze.

Note the drop off in CPI-U from July through September. If that trend continues, the new rate in May will be significantly less than the new 6.48% rate going into effect tomorrow. Buy today if you can.
