The reticence was due to the anti-mask, anti-vaxxers. That is why some on the left were advocating for mask wearing after getting vaccinated.

and yet it isn't the unvaccinated that are scared of getting covid it is the vaccinated that are...the unvaccinated seem to be more comfortable with their status than the vaccinated, perhaps the vaccine can be causing paranoia
