Naah. out-of-state tags for rented or leased vehicles are quite common now. We have half a dozen Indiana tags at work, every U-Haul has Arizona plates, and I have gotten rentals with New York, Maryland, Florida, South Carolina, and Missouri plates in Massachusetts.

CA has already figured that one out too. IF they allow the importation of ICE vehicles, they will tax the hell out of it when you go to register it. They have done this to many people that I know who bought vehicles new in other states to avoid CA's exorbitant sales tax. They got hammered with the tax plus penalties upon registration. In some cases, they wouldn't register them at all because they weren't CA emissions compliant. I'm glad I got out of that state.

A guy that I knew in CA had relatives living in OR, so he registered his truck in OR to avoid the ridiculous commercial plate requirement on pickups in CA. Some jealous bastard turned him in and he had to register it in CA and pay the $500+ fee for a commercial vehicle.

Tow anything with these SHAM EVs and your range is reduced 50 - 75%. Anyone who buys EVs is a fool. Most are owned by Democrats who belong to The Green Religious Cult.

Imagine being told your EV truck has a 500 mile range, and you try to tow something only to find out you can't get there and back because your range went from 500 to 250 or as low as 125 miles. Good luck finding a charging station at just the right point, and of course you are going to wait, wait, wait to top the charge off, more or less depending on the charge's capabilities.

BTW, THE RANGE ISSUE gets worse if you live in a cold climate and dare want to turn the heater on, or it's hot out and you want to use your AC.
