But I thought tariffs didn't increase prices!

I sell industrial tools & welding supplies. I can guarantee you that prices are skyrocketing in my industry as a result of the tariffs. And investors are nervous because of Trump's constant flip flops. It's a 100% increase in tariffs today but may change to a 10% increase tomorrow. The conman is all over the board. This indicates that he doesn't really have a plan in place. He didn't really think it through. He just randomly throws numbers around like a drunkard playing darts.
You mean people might not buy at 50% tariffs today because it might be 10% tomorrow ?
That is unnatural behaviour.
Borderline communism.

Then you can imagine how incredibly difficult is to plan anything amongst this chaos. And see the post above yours.
It does create chaos. For instance: I'll get a call from a customer who wants a quote on a $10,000.00 welding machine. I'll look up the cost and quote the machine for 10% over cost. He'll accept the quote and ask me to order the machine. I'll place a purchase order. When I get the confirmation from the manufacturer, it will show that there's a "tariff surcharge." But since I've already quoted the machine, I can't pass that charge onto the customer so I get to eat it, thus reducing my profit margin.

Each manufacturer or wholesaler is handling the tariff debacle in different ways. Some simply increase the cost of goods and let those costs absorb the tariff taxes. Others will add a small tariff charge to each item purchased. And others will simply have a flat rate on all purchases.

The bottom line is this: The nations most affected by the tariffs are simply allowing the American public to pay the ultimate price. It's a form of hidden taxation that's not so hidden and it's putting a burden on the independent contractors who end up being the victims. They, in turn, have to charge higher prices for their services. Their customers, in turn, raise the prices of their goods. The American consumer ends up paying the ultimate price.

Trump doesn't know what he's doing, it's wreaking havoc along both domestic and global supply chains, and Americans are paying the price.

Our former friends and trading partners are now making new trade relationships and will separate from us as soon as the new supply chains come online.

None of this is a surprise. None of it. He is a menace.

You had decades to address our concerns. Your choice seems to be to just **** us, so now we have a PEASANT REVOLT and the policies are crude and harsh.

None of this should be a surprise. None of it. He is our answer to your hostility.

AND, even if he fails, and even once he is gone, we will still be here, still wanting our interests represented in policy.

This is only begining.

Let's touch on another reason the fat rapist's tariffs are so stupid.

The impact of the tariffs on the American consumer is tied directly to available alternatives.

But the main reason foreign goods are so cheap is their low cost of production. Put 200% tariffs on most of these goods, and American producers will STILL not be incentivized to produce alternatives.

So a tariff on such a good accomplishes nothing but implementing a tax increase for Americans while having the dual effect of reducing their spending on other things, in the economy.

One of the most insane parts of this debacle is that, before Trump showed up, the rubes couldn't even tell you what a ******* tariff WAS. Who pays it. How it's paid. When it's paid. How it affects domestic and global macroeconomics. How it affects business planning, Forex and supply chains.

In fact, many of them STILL can't, as we see on this board every fuckin' day.

But Trump starts up the ******* global chaos, throwing the global trade and global supply chains into a ******* frenzy, alienating and irritating the living shit out of our (former) friends and trading partners, and suddenly The Following are all tariff experts who really care about tariffs 'n stuff, you betcha.

If we survive this madness, I swear, I will really try to laugh about it.

Why are you talking about yourself?

Well, you do not believe Tariffs cause rapid rises to housing costs then.
They can.

Instead of being a weird little attack poodle who keeps getting it wrong, just make a big boy point in your own big boy words.

Thanks.

So why is everything getting better after the Biden disaster

Unfortunately for your cult, your concerns seemed to be a brown man's birth certificate and an insistence on a global baby eating cult controlling the democrats.
Hillary Clinton's campaign sure caused a mess for Obama. Did you know this came from her own campaign, about Obama born in Kenya?

You change your mind in merely moments. Your first claim is they don't.
