This story from BBC is about the award the photographer received – for showing a tragedy most of the world is totally unaware of. I've heard of another somewhere in Russia, but this is the first I've seen about this one in India.

Actually, according to this article they are everywhere, including a large one in Pennsylvania.

Centralia, Pa., coal fire is one of hundreds that burn in the U.S.
