How Benjamin Netanyahu empowered Hamas ... and broke Israel
Polling shows majority blame the PM not just for military failures but for ‘propping up’ the terrorist group in the first place

There is a reasonable chance Benjamin Netanyahu will be remembered as both Hamas’s nemesis and its enabler.

Today, and for however long it takes the Israel Defense Force (IDF) to neuter the military wing of the Islamist group in Gaza, the great bulk of the country’s body politic will stand behind its leader. In Gaza at least, Hamas’s capacity to wage jihad will be crushed, together with much of the political and paramilitary infrastructure through which it governs, analysts expect. Although sharply cognisant of the attendant risks, few in the Israeli mainstream believe they have much choice given the terrible events of Oct 7.

Yet national unity is being delivered through gritted teeth. Recent polling shows a significant majority of Israelis blame Mr Netanyahu not just for the military and intelligence failures that allowed the attack but for “propping up” the terrorist group in the first place.

“For years, the various governments led by Benjamin Netanyahu took an approach that divided power between the Gaza Strip and the West Bank – bringing Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas to his knees while making moves that propped up the Hamas terror group”, wrote political correspondent Tal Schneider in the Times of Israel last week. “The idea was to prevent Abbas – or anyone else in the Palestinian Authority’s West Bank government – from advancing toward the establishment of a Palestinian state”.

Dmitry Shumsky, a columnist for Haaretz, took a similar line, arguing that Mr Netanyahu had pursued a policy of “diplomatic paralysis” in order to avoid negotiations with the Palestinians over a two-state solution – a solution despised by the country’s extreme Right.
This flawed strategy turned Hamas from “a minor terrorist group into an efficient, lethal army with bloodthirsty killers who mercilessly slaughtered innocent Israeli civilians”, said Mr Shumsky.

So Netanyahu should be snuffed.

Why Netanyahu helped fund Hamas and how that backfired for Israel

Israel has pledged to destroy Hamas. It is, however, ironical that Israel's governments under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu consciously channelised funds to Hamas and helped it gain the strength and power that it has today. But why did Israel do so and how did its calculations go awry?

Benjamin Netanyahu's government worked with the singular purpose of trying to prevent the formation of a Palestinian state, according to experts. It also sought to buy peace by giving Gaza residents a glimpse of a better life by funneling money and providing work permits.

The issue of funneling "Qatari money" to Hamas by the Israeli government was mentioned in public by Saudi Arabia's former intelligence chief, Prince Turki al-Faisal, in an address on October 20. Al-Faisal's remarks came after Hamas terrorists on October 7 butchered over a thousand Israelis and took over 200 hostages.

That the Netanyahu government has been working against the formation of an independent Palestinian state has been clear for years. The creation of Israeli settlements deep within the West Bank negates the scope of a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict.
The West Bank is controlled by the Palestinian Authority, which is led by Mahmoud Abbas. Gaza, the other Palestinian territory, has been under Hamas's control since the 2006 elections. Hamas ousted the Palestinian Authority's Fatah in that election.

That Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu was against a Palestinian state was reported as recently as July by The Jerusalem Post.

"Palestinian hopes of establishing a sovereign state must be eliminated," Netanyahu told members of a parliament committee in a closed-door meeting, according to The Jerusalem Post. Netanyahu's remarks came as he was discussing plans for a scenario that did not have Mahmoud Abbas at the helm of the Palestinian Authority.

"Thus, amid this bid to impair Abbas, Hamas was upgraded from a mere terror group to an organisation with which Israel held indirect negotiations via Egypt, and one that was allowed to receive infusions of cash from abroad," writes Schneider.

Hamas has several sources of funds, but money from Qatar is the mainstay.

For years, Netanyahu propped up Hamas. Now it’s blown up in our faces
The premier’s policy of treating the terror group as a partner, at the expense of Abbas and Palestinian statehood, has resulted in wounds that will take Israel years to heal from

Netanyahu propped up and empowered Hamas. His policy resulted in Oct. 7. This is the reality and we need to support the people who want Netanyahu gone as well as the families of hostages who are asking Netanyahu to stop his war.

Liar

No, it's all true. Don't be fooled into supporting our country getting in the war Netanyahu wants.

It's more than just Netanyahu. The globalists want another war in the M.E. And they openly admit to always finding a "reason" to start one.

Israeli forces use illegal white phosphorus in attacks on Gaza and Lebanon: Amnesty International

BEIRUT (AP) — Israeli forces used shells containing the illegal and flesh-burning white phosphorus in attacks on Gaza and southern Lebanon, the human rights group Amnesty International said.

The organization said it verified three other instances of Israel’s military dropping white phosphorus on Lebanese border areas in the past month.

Human rights advocates say the use of white phosphorus is illegal under international law when the white-hot chemical substance is fired into populated areas. It can set buildings on fire and burn human flesh down to the bone. Survivors are at risk of infections and organ or respiratory failure, even if their burns are small.

After an Oct. 16 Israeli strike in the town of Duhaira, houses and cars caught fire and nine civilians were rushed to the hospital with breathing problems from the fumes, Amnesty said. The group said it had verified photos that showed white phosphorus shells lined up next to Israeli artillery near the tense Lebanon-Israel border.

The organization described the incident as an “indiscriminate attack” that harmed civilians and should be “investigated as a war crime.”

The use of white phosphorus may violate Protocol III (on the use of incendiary weapons) of the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons (CCCW) in one specific instance: if it is used, on purpose, as an incendiary weapon directly against humans in a civilian setting. Other uses of white phosphorus, such as illuminating a battlefield, are not prohibited. To establish an illegal use under the CCCW, an investigation into the intent behind the use of white phosphorus would be needed, which exceeds the mandate of WHO.

The world had no problem w/Israel pursing the Oct 7th perps

They were seen as defending themselves

But that morphed into an offensive retaliation

An all out genocide which the world now sees as unjustified

It's a violation. Period.

It is a crime against humanity for Hamas to fire rockets into civilian areas. Start there
Palestinian resistance (Hamas & Co) was founded when people's grandfathers were murdered and expelled from homes .

Deleting ongoing war crimes for 77 years work with short-sighted only.
