Bribery Works

Ironically, yes.

Trump brags about his Atlantic City casino in that book. The one which went bankrupt.

Only Trump could lose money on a casino.

I like the casino business. I like the scale, which is huge, I like the glamour, and most of all, I like the cash flow. If you know what you are doing and you run your operation reasonably well, you can make a very nice profit. If you run it very well, you can make a ton of money.

Trump has no idea what he is doing.

His desiccated brain is stuck in the 80s when he railed and railed about Japan.
All of the corrupted Progressives in jail from the state of New Jersey and Atlantic City may have stories to tell. Only Progs could ruin gambling. The betting parlors in New York State are the same way. All in bed with corrupted unions and mobsters. That city should look built up and pristine. Everyone had their hands in the cookie jar. Including many low-income residents who got rich.

Hell yes we know bribery works, just look at the Biden Crime Family and how they got their money.

And Vegas didn't?

Vegas was built by mobsters, and they made a fortune.

Only Trump could lose on a casino.

Trump is really backtracking on these tariffs as both the bond and stock markets are in trouble. I say hell with tariffs - your job is to get the damn illegals out of america.

april 12 2025 Apple, Nvidia, Dell Technologies, Taiwan Semiconductor, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Super Micro Computer and other technology product makers won a huge exemption from President Donald Trump's "reciprocal" tariffs. That could be good news for tech stocks and the broader market on Monday.
Smartphones, laptops, PCs, servers, memory chips, flat-panel displays, solar cells and hard drives are exempt from the additional 125% tariff on Chinese goods and 10% baseline levy on imports from other countries, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced late Friday. The electronics products still face a 20% tariff on Chinese goods imposed earlier this year.
It's the latest sign that President Trump is bending to market and political backlash over his high tariffs. On Wednesday, Trump paused most of the so-called reciprocal tariffs that took effect hours earlier. The 10% baseline tariff remained while he hiked tariffs on Chinese goods to 145%.

Trump has now exempted tariffs on some major items we purchase from China. This is not winning. China has beat trump again.

President Trump exempts smartphones, computers, microchips from new tariffs

The Trump administration exempted smartphones, computers and other electronic imports from President Donald Trump's reciprocal tariffs, softening the impact the duties could have on the cost of many popular tech products in the U.S.

The exemptions, published in updated guidance from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, include electronic imports made in China, which Trump has targeted with 125% reciprocal tariffs. Hard drives, memory chips and semiconductors are also among the excluded products.

Phones, other electronics exempt from new tariffs, Trump administration says

The Trump administration announced late Friday night that smartphones, computers and other electronic components are exempt from what the White House calls “reciprocal” tariffs, days after the United States imposed the highest levies on foreign goods in a century.

For makers of electronics, particularly Apple, the break on tariffs is likely to be a huge relief. Apple has faced the prospect of a new import tax of roughly $700 or more on each $1,000 iPhone imported from China, based on tariff rates the White House increased to at least 145 percent.

At least for now, Apple won’t have to decide whether to take a hit to its profits or possibly raise prices significantly for iPhone buyers.

TA-DAAAAA!

Bribery works.

Trump has made our country as corrupt as Russia.
Political donations are legal in the United States, provided they comply with campaign finance laws. Donations to inauguration funds are also legal, and while they can raise ethical questions about influence and access, they do not automatically equate to bribery unless there is clear evidence of a quid pro quo arrangement.

In this case, while Cook's donation may have been aimed at fostering goodwill, there is no direct evidence that it was intended as a bribe to secure tariff exemptions.

I don't think it's bribery; donations and lobbying are part of American moneyocracy. lol. :)

That's called leadership and deal making for the things America thinks it "needs".

That said all cell phones could die out and I'd be happy with a landline....Who knows maybe then they would get shed of all those call center scammers. ;)

How about Holosun? Asking for a friends who's guns didn't fall out during a terrible boating accident.

Again, if you think both sides are the same, what you're seeing from republicans today should show you that this opinion is wrong.

I have no desire in picking between the "lesser evil".
