There was not a single bit of evidence there was any sort of crime at all at the apartment they raided.
It WAS the wrong apartment.
Sure no-knocks are not illegal, but ONLY when there is a hostage situation.
A raid in the middle of the night is illegal, and it is illegal to raid in order to gain evidence.
You have to already HAVE all the evidence you need before you are supposed to be issued a warrant.
Individuals are sovereign in their home, under the Castle Doctrine, and the only way a warrant can be served is after proof of guilty has been shown to a judge, during the day, and through identifying themselves to the occupant.
These cops were plainclothes, so could not legally conduct a search at all.
They could not identify themselves.

Just as the federal government has jurisdiction over federal land, states have jurisdiction over state land, and municipalities have jurisdiction over city land, individuals have jurisdiction of their own home. You can not violate that sovereignty of a person's castle, unless it is necessary in order to defend the rights of others.
