Brian Wilson

Buffalo Springfield is kind of the origin of Crosby Stills and Nash. I saw them in San fransisco at a free concert with Neil Young in honor of Bill Grahm
I've never heard of Buffalo Spingfield. But then I googled them and said "oh yea. Is that the name of that band?"

Stop there what's that sound, everybody look what's goin down. Great song!

Very sad news. Legend is much overused these days but he was a genuine giant. RIP
I can tell you personally he was never happier than doing pet sounds 50.
I think he died a contented man.

Still haven't heard from Blondie Chapman or Al jardine.
Ah shit. The last of the Beach Boys. In fact, he was the Beach Boys.
I haven't heard from Al jardine or Blondie Chapman but Mike Love
sort of took the Beach boys name.
Is a total dick.

Sort of
the Lindsey Buckingham
of the Beach boys.

There's never enough.

Mike Love and Brian mended their relationship a few years ago.

He spent a lot of time wandering around Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hfor a long time. He would sit on benches watching the world go by. After his wife died he always looked dirty and scruffy. A typical homeless person. Few people know who he was. It's sad to see him go even though hes been gone a long time.
It's true he was sharp as a tack 2016,
Shortly after that he canceled dates citing mental health issues.

He did love hanging out and talking to people.

One of the most self-deprecating people I've ever known

Didn't care about money hated Fame,
He had it all.

Still left a hundred million behind,

Thoughts and prayers to Carney & Wendy & crew.

It's all about quality of life.

you would hate the blues.....
Good blues, I love. I know it when I hear it. You're probably right though I wouldn't like a lot of it. Some of it's awful.

There's this one guy I saw singing the blues at a blues bar. He blew us all away. He was so fucking smooth and good. What a voice. What a cool song. Not a depressing blues song. Ah oooooh, skibibapiboobibababoy. Ah oooooooh. That girl she gave me so much joy. She broke my heart and now I don't know what to do. I'm so blueeeeeee.

Its been a sad week for music. First Sly Stone and now this.I dont think that era will be repeated. But then im an old fart.
They combined
our threads
I am honored.

If I had to pick one influence in my songwriting
and I'm a jazz R&B guy,

It would be Brian most likely
Not just the music
but the way he lived his life
and the way he kept coming back.

Never a flash in the pan
he loved working even into his seventies,

I don't think any of us
can relate
to what that kind of Fame brings.

he hated the bubble
and he hated being isolated.

I'll say it again
his home was the recording studio,

When he wasn't at the studio
the studio was in his head.

He found the studio as sort of a church mostly get away from his father, then fame.

Enjoyed recognition and appreciation of the friendly nature
but he hated Fame.

He was not a controlling person
but he enjoyed having control
over his work
and he insisted upon it every time.

He's so well
respected in the music world
He was joyful
everybody wanted to work with him.

And his personality
was as bright as the sun,

It will shine I come through
in his music forever.

As a songwriter I pay him
the highest compliment at all,

He never had to explain his music,
It just was.

The cream always rises to the top.

And he wouldn't want anybody to be sad for a second.

Write a new song then !
He would say.

I'm already working on it Brian.

Everything gets repeated. Remember the harpsichord? It'll come back. I'm waiting for the sax to come back to pop music.

I have satellite radio. Radio for everyone. Any musical genre has a couple or more channels. I love R&B from the 90's and 2000's. Well before satellite radio, that style of music would just disappear from the radio. Today there is a channel that not only plays those great oldies, they have current modern day artists who still sing those kinds of songs. Fantasia from American Idol type songs.

Will Big Hair Bands ever come back? Heavy Metal? For sure.

Perfect explanation. Makes me empathize for him. It's a beautiful sound they gave us.

You know who I hated when I was younger but now I appreciate him?

Burt Bacharach

or

Paul Simon

I dont think the kids are into the music as much these days. Young talent is writing apps not songs.

There will always be musicians, artists, actors and athletes. It's a way to make money. We all pay people a lot of money who can do these things well.

You're making me think about my sister in law's cousin. She plays piano. She's good. Real good. Classical piano. BARF if you ask me but people pay to go see her play. But she's in Greece so there's no money in that. And now her niece is in her 20's and she's singing opera. BARF. But these people are artists. They can't work a job 9-5.

What they are doing should be their hobbies not their jobs. LOL
