Breed of Peace Attacks Golden Retriever....NSFW

My step daughter has a Husky Pit mix.

Best damn dog ever and my grandkids love him.
Two friends have Pits that spend 90% of their time sleeping and would lick an intruder to death.
If anyone laid a finger on my doggie friends they would have to pass through me, and I bite, unlike them.

Only dog that ever attacked me was a useless ankle biter Chihuahua.

All pits/mixes should be destroyed.....A round to the head would have ended that quickly.....Fuckin' soy city people.

"Fuckin' soy city people" aren't very likely to own pits or pit mixes, that distinction belongs to those who are usually gang members or people who tend to operate outside the boundaries of law in the cities. Also, a lot of country people I know own pits, both full blood and mixes.

My soon to be son in law (who lives out in the country) has 2 pits, and both of them are the most loving, friendly dogs you will ever meet if they are around, but they guard the house quite nicely. And, if you are a regular guest at their house, they become protective of you as well.

His pits are especially nice to have around in the winter, as they think they are lap dogs (even though they are around 70 lbs each), and make good space heaters when they curl up around you on the couch or the recliners.

It's all about how they are raised and treated. In other words, it's not the breed it's the owner.

To call for the elimination of the breed on whole is just plain ignorant.

EXACTLY! All the pits I've been around in my life were raised by decent people who knew how to treat animals, and they were all loving, friendly dogs that were pretty well behaved, with the exception of when they got to know you, would excitedly greet you by jumping up, wagging their tail and bumping you repeatedly with their noses. But, tell them "down", and they would just bump against your legs until you patted their heads and scratched their ears. Also fun to say "fetch", and have them bring you something to throw. Pits seem to have a lot of energy to burn, and don't mind a good session of fetch and racing around the yard.

The sweetest dog I ever owned was Bizzie, my Staffordshire Terrier. Before we adopted her, I spent the better part of three hours trying to get that dog to bite me. She was having none of it:

This has been my experience as well. One of the sweetest and most friendly I came across in a local pet store. A complete stranger to me but she, upon my addressing her, did not hesitate to drop and expose her belly looking for attention. Her person had been good to her, treated her right.

I had a pitty I picked up as a stray when I was in high school. She got along great with my other dogs, and even my cat. We never found her person, but whoever it was, again, treated her right.

Agree, but would add a caveat. There is a wide spectrum of of type in the “breed” and disposition these days dus to crap breeders. When you own a dog, you owe it to him to respect his heritage as well as his own particular personality. Too many people get dogs and are shocked when they act like … dogs. A pit’s heritage is in dog fighting. That doesn’t mean they are all aggressive or want to start fights. A lot of pits may not start a fight and can be very tolerant, but if another goes too far they sure as heck will finish it. A lot of breeds require responsible owners who who understand them or actively seek to learn. German Shepherds, Australian Cattle Dogs, Australian Shepherds, Cane Corsos etc etc.

Let's be real.
There is not going to be a fucking mass confiscation and euthanasia of people's loved pets. What a shit show that would be.
JHC, the whole notion is preposterous.

Well the whole situation could be modified greatly by putting down every pit/mix that shows-up at county/city animal shelters.
