Why? Denmark is a great country, always in the top 5 when it comes to the happiness index, has a good culture and good economy. What's not to like.

It's also a country that has some of Europe's strictest asylum and immigration laws, designed to make the country a less attractive destination for migrants and asylum seekers. I would have preferred him leave it alone, but this is quite impressive.

I think Trump realizes two things:

1. Both China and Russia realize and have a strategic interest in Greenand forcing us to move in now and secure it first as a controlled part of North America to stave off that inevitability.
2. China has been backing us into another corner with them being the primary source of rare earths needed to create high-tech stuff like lithium batteries and computer chips, and getting mining agreements with Greenland gets us out of that box.

China and Russia are looking 5 years down the road.
Democrats are looking 5 weeks down the road.
Trump is wisely looking 25 years down the road in security the future for America.

You don’t even know what they’re negotiating for, but I think we all agree that it almost certainly has nothing to do with the purchase or Greenland.

I think it was several events. One, the E.U. trade bill was stalled. Two, NATO was more than willing to stand up to him. His tariffs were never going to stop NATO from standing up to him. He knew he was going to lose on Greenland. NATO will reinforce Greenland, count on that. Becoming part of the U..S. will NOT happen.
