Did he pardon Hunter out of loyalty to family...or fear of what steps Hunter would take to stay out of prison if he didn't get a pardon?

Maybe, maybe not. Though the Republican House Committee could not find any evidence to support any other crimes, maybe the new FBI director can. Otherwise, you are correct.

One caveat though. I have not been able to find yet, a copy of the official PDF document from the Department of Justice files, as probably too new to be on file, as other Presidential Clemency documents for Joe or the Trump years and others. Meaning: We really do not know what all he was pardoned for.

I would have list the specific and added blanket immunity on any and all other Federal crimes possibly committed from the time he turned 18 to the moment the document was signed.
