I would wager that if he had asked DJT, Trump would have agreed to pardon Hunter, but I can see why Biden didn't want to put himself in that position, or to make Trump look gracious. It goes against the Hitler Narrative.

That is not what he was charged with though. We cannot be honorable unless we apply the same standards to everybody, even those we despise. We protested lawfare being used against Trump with perhaps very insignificant infractions blown up into monumental felonies and not see that something of the same thing was being used against Hunter. We can't get around the very real probability that he was charged with a small gun crime so the government could overlook the big stuff. A kind of pound of flesh thing.

Okay maybe we could draw the comparison of Al Capone who wasn't charged for some horrible crimes he committed due to lack of evidence so they got him for tax evasion. But his dad wasn't President of the United States so Capone went to prison.

Hunter and Trump are different in that they couldn't find any evidence for the big crimes they accused Trump of so they had to manufacture some crime out of something else. We know in all probability Hunter committed bigger crimes and perhaps the government even had sufficient evidence to convict him of those but they chose the gun crime so everybody would focus on that and forget about the other stuff.

But if it was your kid, would you let him go to prison for something as inconsequential as that gun crime that harmed no one if you had the power to pardon him? And Biden is gambling on Trump's big heart that he won't go after Hunter once he is in office. And Trump's track record is such that in fact he is unlikely to go after Hunter or Joe once he is in office.

Yes it all stinks. But it is what it is. And if we can get past all this and back to a normal America it will have been worth it.

The only way America returns to normal, is for criminals in government to be prosecuted for their crimes.

Especially the criminals in the DOJ.
