He becomes the first PM to be investigated by the Commons own standards committee. This follows his pioneering efforts in becoming the first PM to be found to have broken the law.

Sadly he was not in the country to enjoy it having scuttled off to India in shame..

The motion to refer him went through unopposed with the tories having changed their positions.

Initially they ordered all MPs to vote down the measure to protect the fat pig. But it soon became clear that the vote was too close to call and they abandoned that position quickly.

In the debate tories queued up to criticise the fatboy and the timetable now looks like this.

The Met are still investigating his lawbreaking and more fines are due to follow.

The Sue grey report into his lawbreaking is still due to be published.

May 5th sees the local govt elections which are expected to see a tory wipeout.

On conclusion of the Sue Grey report and the Met inuiry the Commons Standards Committee will commence the difficult task of deciding if Johnson lied to the House. (He did)

The upshot of that is that he could lose his seat in the house. More likely the tories will sack him before then and we will be rid of the only contender to Trump as biggest liar on the planet.

In any case, England is insignificant in the scope of the world. Your defeat and surrender in 1783 ensured that.

Boris isn't going anywhere, but it is nice to have dreams I suppose.
There have been a few false dawns but today showed his grip on his own party has gone.
Firstly he had to allow a free vote because it was better than having a full on revolt.
And secondly one of his most loyal supprters turned on him in the commons today and told him to go. Steve Baker has a small majority and can see the direction of travel.

The age of lies is coming to an end.

Did he have to go all the way to India to get a curry?

If they wanted him out, they could do it without Labour in the commons. They could ax him behind closed doors. So far, there isn't the support. This isn't just about his most loyal supporters. It is about keeping power in the hands of the conservatives and there is no conservative backstop to Johnson at the moment.

They could easily do it if they had spines. But they are conservatives and every one of them is working out what it means for them personally.
The tories are going to get the biggest hammering in the local elections in a few weeks and that wll concentrate minds.
Its over for Johnson,

This thread is remarkable only in one respect:

It turns out that taint does have the ability to discuss matters of concern to his own nation.

baby steps.
I have the ability to discuss many different subjects with honesty and clarity.

You would do well to listen.

You don’t appear to have any such ability. You would do well to shut your mouth and open your ears and mind. At the very least, it couldn’t hurt you and it would help lower the volume of gibberish on this board by a full taint.
