Kudos, it takes a lot of guts and self-awareness to make such an admission in today's polarized environment. Conservatives and liberals disagree on most policies but in general I think they both think that their ideas are best for the country but neither side should be blinded to corruption and accept it based on tribalism.

The answer is collaboration. Innovating together so that both ends of the spectrum have REAL skin in the game.

For example, since Schumer's been a Senator the US debt has increased by $33 Trillion, while he has done very well for himself in the process.

Many other Congressman and Senators have made tens and even hundreds of millions in disclosed wealth. I suspect that there are very many with undisclosed fortunes; all at the expense of the American taxpayer.
