Blue Ridge Parkway

You've gotta stop at Craggy Gardens, mile 364, and do the hike up to the top. You get a better view than you get at Mt. Mitchell IMHO. And you get to pick delicious wild huckleberries on the way up.

Do you think people will bust your balls for not riding a H-D?

Just wonderin'

I was vacationing in Asheville a few years ago and planned to do some bicycle riding on that road. But it turned out we were in a valley and in either direction I was looking at a ball-breaking hill of several miles duration - so I didn't do it.

My wife and I are riding the BRP this summer.

You won't regret it. One of the best rides I've ever taken, all 500 miles of it. Just be careful with some of the turns.

Not sure I'll be able to make the hike, but I'll try.

Don't care. I'll be on my Burgman, my wife will be on her Pacific Coast...my uncle might make part of the trip on his Yamaha Triple.

Tail of the Dragon is notorious curvy. The onliest trouble is, it doesn't go anywhere.
Oh wait, it does bring you out to Benton Tennessee. That's a speed trap town.

It's not really much of a "hike" TBH -- not that far, or steep.. But if you can the view is worth it.
