Following the knife attack on a young American man on a tram in Dresden, the police released a photo of the 20-year-old suspect on Friday morning. The suspect is Ismail Alhaj Hussein, a Syrian national who is under investigation on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He is accused of injuring a 20-year-old US citizen in the face with a knife and then fleeing the scene. Several searches of possible locations have so far been unsuccessful.

The US Embassy condemned the attack. The victim was discharged from hospital on Tuesday.

The Dresden police are searching for this man in connection with a knife attack on an American citizen in a Dresden tram and are asking for information.
