An American man visiting the German city of Dresden made the mistake of intervening to protect two women on a tram who were being harassed by Syrian culture-enrichers, and was stabbed in the face for his efforts. Police were able to catch one of the two suspects, but he was released, since he was not the one who actually wielded the knife. The second suspect is still on the run.

The American, John Rudat, is in the hospital recovering from his wounds, and has been interviewed by the media.

Intervening is one of those things. I do it myself whenever I see the need for it. The thing is that Americans are Americans and they think that being aggressive is a heroic stance. I don't. The cathedral in Dresden was by the way rebuilded also with the help of Brits and other allies of world war 2 who gave also money for this project.
