When you willingly segregate yourself, whatever noble intentions you may have had, you only give credence to the advisability of segregation.
While all-boys/girls schools and classes may do better, or all-black/reliigon/etc., since society isn't so-segregated I think you're shooting yourself in the foot when these students emergy into the world and have a more difficult time assimilating into mixed society.
