I took my youngest (2), son (8) and my nephew (12) to the park. My nephew and son usually play basketball and I push my daughter on swing and let me run around like crazy.
When we got to the park 8 black kids ranging from what looks like 8 to maybe 14 were paying full court 4 on 4. My son and nephew were watching on. In the middle of the game, what looked like the oldest asked if my nephew and son wanted to join.
They must have played 50 games. There was no animosity, so cheap shots, no racism, no fighting, a lot of good fun trash talk. It is how I remember growing up with Blacks.
See we hear the headlines, which I am fallen into many times (and will continue to do). You have blacks digest this and say whites are so racist and you get then same for whites saying blacks are so dangerous. It is good to see this in your everyday life.
