Anyone recall Biden saying “you ain’t Black”?



Fast forward a few months.

Not only was there a pitiful jobs report. The unemployment rate dropped to 5.2 percent from 5.4 percent, in line with estimates. But the August 2021 jobs report showed that unemployment among Black workers rose in August to 8.8 percent from 8.2 percent in July. The white unemployment rate, meanwhile, fell to 4.5 percent from 4.8 percent and the Asian unemployment rate dropped to 4.6 percent from 5.3 percent.

The unemployment rate for Hispanic and Latino workers inched lower to 6.4 percent from 6.6 percent.

Interestingly enough, Biden’s “back in chains” video seems appropriate at this point, unfortunately the video has been scrubbed.

Virtually every store and restaurant has a "Help Wanted" sign, and most advertise a starting wage of at least $14/hr. McDonald's is offering a $500 sign-on bonus. Seriously, there is no reason for anyone to be unemployed where I live - although I know a few who curiously cannot find employment and are copiously sucking at the Government's capacious teats via the enhanced UEC. While I do not mean to imply that Blacks are all unskilled, the demand for unskilled workers where I live is unprecedented. Blacks are like any group of people. If government is paying them to not work, then why work? The problem with that is if things ever do get back to normal, employers look at the abusers as slackers and have no need to offer them a job when they have the choice of others who resisted abusing the system. Now we get to the illegal problem. Illegals do blue-collar work that many blacks take. Supply and demand.

$500 bonus is maybe, barely one month car payment, dude. after taxes, less. $14/hr is a joke. if your single the income taxes, medicade, ss, ui and state income taxes are at least 25% - 35%, then subtract obama care extra payment at the end of the year, gas tax, meals tax, sales tax...your lucky to have $7. Have you been listening to the news or not? between taxation and inflation, you can't even afford to get to work for $14 an hour: you would literally loose money to go to work. And if you did, then what, live in a cardboard box? hahahah.

Ok, so I'm off topic a bit. This fake incentive to go to work just because there are job wanted signs isn't even a race related thing, it's a SOCIALISM HAS SUCKED THE BLOOD OUT OF OUR ECONOMY thing. And believe me, as a former employer, I feel that side of the issue as well. The economics are broken on all sides.

It is easier for some Black people to adopt the victimology persona than to assess their particular situation & improve it. It is so much easier to blame outside indicators for one's condition-it is called avoiding taking responsibility." Younger people today act like this is something altogether new. When I started working in the late 70's nobody could afford their own apartment or house on minimum wage. I didn't move out of home until the age of 20 because at that age, I was making less than double of minimum. Just a tiny apartment, food, utilities, no extras, and I worked at least 10 hours of week overtime.

When I lost that job during the Regan recession I worked for less. So my only recourse was to work a lot of hours. At times that meant having two, and at one time three jobs. With no jobs around I worked for a temporary service.

For younger people today, that's unheard of. Smart phones, cable or satellite television, high-speed internet, later model cars are all necessities to them. We didn't have any of those things when I was younger and did just fine. The problem is nobody wants to work past 40 hours, nobody has the desire to advance themselves, and everybody in the blue collar world wants somebody to pay them $25.00 an hour to ride around on a floor sweeping machine which is something you can train a monkey to do.
