This is incorrect as far as I know. There is noting that says you cannot be a dual citizen.

My son was offered dual citizenship because he was born in Germany while I was stationed there. He automatically had the right to be a German and a US citizen though US citizenship in this case is automatic and German is not as there are requirements that go along with it.

That is certainly an asinine thing to ask people to swear when also allowing dual citizenship.

And Oath though is not a law and is not binding in the same way. I could publicly swear the opposite and it would mean nothing in a legal sense. People do that all the time.

It does say All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof are citizens of the United States and the State wherein they reside.
